A perfectly preserved original Great Camp of the Adirondacks
Three Star Camp was built in 1906 for New York City banker William A. Read, and was so named for his oldest son’s rank of three-star vice admiral in the US Navy. It has been maintained and enjoyed by five generations of the Read family for over a century.
Living History
Three Star Camp is a uniquely preserved jewel of original Adirondack architecture nestled in a nearly 5,000 acre private forest preserve.
A Pristine Lake
The camp sits on Little Simon Pond, a not-so-little private lake shaped like a fish. You can explore the lake and visit the island in one of the guideboats from our boathouse.
Adirondack Accomodations
Three Star Camp can sleep twenty people, with fifteen in the eight bedrooms in the main house and five in the three bedrooms above the kitchen.
